Aletha Riley Obituary

Althea Marie Riley transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Post-Acute Medical Specialty Hospital in Covington, LA. She was 56 years old and a native of Phoenix, LA. She was a proud graduate of Phoenix High School Class of 1981.

Beloved daughter of the late Geraldine Miller Riley and LeRoy Riley Sr. Devoted mother of Aletha (Henry) Barabino, and Laken (Shadric Sr.) Riley-Matthews. Cherished grandmother of Michael Ralph III, Tyran Jefferson, Kearstein and Shadric Matthews Jr. and Harlem LaCour. Sister of Selika Riley, Gerald (Rita) and David (Corrine) Riley Sr., Charles (Yolanda) Williamson and the late LeRoy Jr. and Kevin Neil Riley. She is also survived by her devoted aunt Ella Mae Riley, devoted best friend Kathleen Cornin, devoted caregiver and adopted daughters Lourdy Francois and Rhonda Picquet, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Baptist Church 156 St. Joseph Lane Phoenix, LA at 11 am. The visitation will begin at 9 am. Pastor Nadel Cosse’ will officiate and Entombment will follow in the church’s cemetery.

There will also be a wake service held at the church on Friday, February 15, 2019 starting at 6 pm. Visitation at the church will begin at 5:30 pm.
