Stephen Videl “Cheeze” Ragas Sr. departed this life on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 33. He was born on September 1, 1982 and was a native of Port Sulphur (Churchville), La and was a resident of Algiers, La for many years.

Beloved son of Peggy Ragas Matthews. Devoted father of Serenity Virginia and Stephen Videl Ragas Jr. Grandson of the late Rev. Victor Jr. and Virginia Ragas. Nephew of Benjamin and Stella Ragos, Isreal Ragas,  Freddie and Barbara Ragas,  C. Danny and Joyce Ragas, Virginia and Ernest Brumfield, Lydia and David Lewis and Margie Smith. Special nephew of Shelia Ragas Camese, Maria Ragas and Bertha Ragas O’Neal. Beloved special uncle of Cameron Ragas. He was preceded in death by aunts, uncles, and cousins Earlie Mae and Joseph, Ethel, Victor III, Emease, Amelia, Emma, Avery Sr., Randolph and David II. He is also survived by a large host of very dear cousins and devoted friends whom he loved and enjoyed spending time with.

Relatives and friends of the family also Edna Karr High School class of 2000, classmates of Delgado Community College, Volunteers of America of Greater New Orleans Residential Re-entry Center, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Voices of the Ex- Offenders and  The National Association of Black Social Worker of New Orleans are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Robinson Family Funeral Home, 9611 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse, La 70037 at 11:30 A.M. Visitation will begin at 7 A.M. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, La. There will also be a public visitation on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the funeral home from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M.
