Marilyn “Peterice” James Ragas departed this life on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Ochsner’s Main Campus Hospital. She was 69 years old and a native and lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, LA.
Daughter of the late Michael James and Gloria Williams. Devoted wife of Joseph O. Ragas. Mother of Yolanda (James) Brown Sr., Carla (Shane), Ivy (Arthur), Cedric (Chanda) Ragas Sr., Raquel (Royal Bernell) Jones and the late Wynette Williamson. Sister of Nelson Jr. and Charles Williams Sr., Ethel Jones, Helen Bell, Rosemary Mitchell, Dolores Antoine, Melvina James, Paulette Primm, Marie Smith, Theodore Holmes, Lofton James and the late Angelic Reddick, Flora Cross, Anna Mae Delone and Virgil James. Deceased also survived by 26 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters- in-law, as well as other relatives devoted friends
Relatives and friends of the family, Parishioners of St. Patrick Catholic Church, all neighboring churches, employees of St. Jude Catholic School, Plaquemines Parish School Board, Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Office and Plaquemines Parish Council of Aging are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church located at 28698 Hwy 23 Port Sulphur, LA on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11 AM. Visitation will begin at 9 AM. Father Gerard Stapleton officiating. Internment will follow in Roxie James Cemetery in Port Sulphur, LA.
