Barbara Jean Knight Powell passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on April 20th, 2017. She was 64 years old. She was the devoted wife of the late Aubrey Don Powell, Sr. Daughter of the late Mack Arthur and Ethel Knight. Devoted mother of Donya Smith (Corey), Shannon, Glenary Sr. (Latoya), Kendrick Sr., Ryan Sr. (Chelsi),   and Devin Powell Sr. Sister of Thomas Knight and Carolyn K. Charles.  Also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Aubrey D. Powell, Jr. and her brother Larry Knight.

Relatives, friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of Second Baptist Church and neighboring churches, are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place, New Orleans, LA 70131, Pastor Andre Sigler, Officiating on Friday April 28, 2017 at 10 a.m., Visitation will begin at 8a.m., Interment Rest Lawn Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
