Aunre’ “Ray Ray” Carver Johnson, an 8th grade student at Harry S. Truman Middle School, departed this life on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. He was 13 years old and was a Tight-End for the New Orleans Panthers Youth Football Organization.

Beloved son of Aunreese Washington and Antonio Johnson. Stepson of Darryl Simmons. Brother of Desaun Johnson, Darryl Simmons Jr. and Tyree Washington. Grandson of Desareese Black Jones, Robert B. Jones III, Norman Washington Jr. and the late Theresa Johnson. Great grandson of Carmel Black, Betty Washington, the late Carver W. Black and Norman Washington Sr.

Nephew of Tierra Jones, Giselle Jones-Hudson, Linda Johnson, Shawanda Johnson and Shelia Johnson-Smith. Godson of Victoria Black and Corey Sanchez. God brother of Demieron Black. Deceased also survived by a host of cousins, friends, devoted teammates and coaches.

Relatives and friends of the family also members of All Saints Catholic Church, faculty and student body of Harry S. Truman Middle School, U.S. Postal Service, N.O. Downtown Development District, N.O.P.D., N.O. Panthers Youth Football Organization, J.P. Recreation Department and M.J.P. Trucking Inc. are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church located at 1441 Teche St. New Orleans, La. 70114 at 10 A.M. Visitation will begin at 8 A.M. Father Peter Weiss Officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale, La.
