Alton John “Cat” Avist Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He
was 60 years old.
Son of the late Alton John Avist Sr. and Edna Antoine Avist. Beloved Husband of Betty Turner. Devoted Father of Alton lll, Avron and Adarius Avist, Andre’ Winter and Keyrone White. Loving Brother of Bridgette Barthelemy and Gilda Morris. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 28683 Highway 23, Port Sulphur La. at 11 AM. Father Gerald P. Stapleton officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, Empire La.
