August F. Picquet Sr., went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was 81 years old. He was born September 6, 1935 in Davant, LA to the late Louis and Marguerite Moran Picquet Jr.

Loving Husband of the late Leona Bentley Picquet. Devoted Father of Pastor August F. Picquet Jr. (Regina), Monica, Charles, Von Eric (Lynette), Corey (Tiffany), Jarel (Quiana) Picquet, Timothy (Darleen) Williams Sr., and the late Aubury Picquet.  Brother of Velma (Antoine) Duplessis, Anna (Seagle) Etienne, Irvin (Peggy) Picquet and the late Augustine Marshall, Rev. Dr. Alberta Jackson, Octavia (Rev. Melvin Sr.) Cross, Melisha Bienemy, and Julia Picquet.

He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends, also members of Zion Travelers B.C., St. Joseph B.C., and all surrounding churches, are invited to attend the Home going Celebration at St. John B.C., Pastored by Rev. Romell E. Griffin 136 St. John Lane, Phoenix, LA on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Pastor Tyrone Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Phoenix, LA.
