Sister Marlena (Lena) Marie Espadron graced this world on June 22, 2000, and departed to be with the Lord on March 2, 2024, at the age of 23. She was a cherished daughter of Karen and the late Keith Pleasure and Frederick Curry.
Marlena was a devoted mother to Ezekiel Brandon, a loving sister to Khadija (Tineka) Williams Darboe, Soriba Darboe and Jose Espadron, and a caring aunt to Aaron Alexander, Emaani Fleming, and Mikel Espadron. She shared deep bonds with her cousins, particularly Tiffania Deal, Akeema Hawk-Jeng, and Chazmere Williams, and counted Qualicia Martinez, Aimie Long, and Johnny Ragas among her dear friends.
She held a special place in the hearts of her family, being the niece of Kimberly (Rickey) Encalade, Keith Sr. (the late Lucretia), Kirk (Mary), and Kerri (the late Nora) Espadron. Marlena was also the beloved granddaughter of the late John Emile and Elvira Espadron and the goddaughter of the late Mona Riley and Ronald Johnson.
Residing in Anchorage, Alaska, Marlena was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life services which will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Robinson Family Funeral Home in Belle Chasse, LA. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Theodore Turner Jr., officiating and interment will follow in Tropical Bend Cemetery in Empire, LA.
